Rogers trade fair

DEC. 5 THROUGH 12 — Word of Peace Lutheran Church of Rogers will be sponsoring a Fair Trade Fair the first two weeks in December. Fair Trade gift items will be sold before and after the worship services Sunday, Dec. 2; Monday Dec. 3;  and Sunday, Dec. 9, as well as before and after confirmation classes Wednesdays, Dec. 5, and Dec. 12. Beautiful gifts are fashioned by artisans who usually work within a local coop which has been established and operated by the artisans themselves. The gifts are often made from discarded materials by creative people who use their skills to earn enough money to support their families.  They are then purchased for a fair price by the non profit agency called SERRV who offer the gifts to benevolent agencies such as our source, Lutheran World Relief. It is an opportunity to purchase some beautiful items as Christmas gifts at an affordable price while at the same time making it possible for artisans to support themselves and their families.
