Benji Subah
Bryan Gichaba
Benji Subah and Bryan Gichaba, two members of the 2012 Class 4A Minnesota state championship team from Osseo High School, are first-year players with the Central Lakes College basketball team in Brainerd for 2012-13.
They will be part of the team that hopes to defend its Minnesota College Athletic Conference title earned during a 29-4 season that ended last March with a fourth place finish in the NJCAA Division III tournament in New York.
Subah is a 5-8 guard and Gichaba is a 6-5 guard-forward. Last year they helped the Orioles to a 30-2 season that ended with a 49-47 state championship win over Lakeville North. Subah and Gichaba, both from Brooklyn Park, are the first two Osseo recruits to play for Coach Jim Russell, whose 15-year record at CLC is 295-120.
Anna Sivanich
Maple Grove High girls’ soccer standout Anna Sivanich’s life-long dream of playing soccer in college was fulfilled when she committed to Bemidji State University.
As a Crimson, Sivanich has had success in both academics and athletics, earning a 3.47 GPA and being a two-year varsity starter and important contributor to her team.

Kelsey Hochberger of Maple Grove is one of 13 student-athletes on the University of Wisconsin-River Falls 2012 season tennis roster.
