Champlin resident named Aquatennial Senior Commodore

Bruce L. Humphrys, long-time resident of Champlin, has been named Senior Commodore of the Minneapolis Aquatennial, 2012-2013. Humphrys has lived in Champlin since 1999 and is an active volunteer with Maple Grove Hospital, Yellow Tree Theatre in Osseo, non-profit boards and many community events.  He has also had a decades long career in non-profit management.

He has participated in many parades, coronations, festivals, and dinners since being named Senior Commodore in July.  He will serve through the “Best Days of Summer” Aquatennial Festival in July 2013.  In the meantime, Humphrys and the rest of his court, Judy Harding, Senior Queen; Roxanne Denysiuk, Senior Princess; and Terry Hoppenrath, Senior Vice Commodore spend most weekends at community festivals and twice a month singing with the Minneapolis Aquatennial Senior Ambassadors at nursing homes and senior residencies.
