‘A-Haunting We Will Go
NOV. 1 TO 3 — The Delano High School Theater Department will present “A-Haunting We Will Go” in the Delano Middle School Auditorium. Performance times will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1 and Friday, Nov. 2, and at 1 p.m.,Saturday, Nov. 3. Tickets will be available at the door. The play is a mystery/ comedy about a television producer who stays in an old haunted hotel the night before it is due to be demolished. Caution: this play might be too spooky for the very young or faint of heart.
Craft show fundraiser

Needle felting workshop
NOV. 3 — Fiber artist Jan Johnson will present a needle-felting workshop at the next meeting of the Delano Franklin Township Historical Society, set for 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Delano Heritage Center, Bridge Avenue at Second Street. Felting is one of the oldest crafts, dating back to 6300 BC. Everyone is invited to attend, learn the process and take home a small completed project.

Artistry in Wood Show
NOV. 10 & 11 — Minnesota Viking Woodcarving Club, a non-profit organization, will be hosting its annual Artistry in Wood Show Saturday, Nov. 10 and Sunday, Nov. 11, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Southtown Shopping Center, I-494 & Penn Avenue S. in Bloomington. The show will also featuring Minnesota’s own nonagenarian, world famous chip carver Walt Grittner, as well as many other artists in wood from all over the upper Midwest. Shown will be many disciplines in wood carving including chip carving, relief carving, carving in the round, intarsia, marguetry, parquetry, wood turnings, bark carving, wood burning and other interesting crafts in wood.
Harbingers Quartet concert
NOV. 11 — Faith Community Church of Independence will offer a free concert by the Harbingers Quartet, at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, followed by a pie fellowship in the lower auditorium. Proceeds from a free will offering will go towards Love INC. Heartland and a roofing project for the church. Faith Community Church is located at the intersection of Highway 12 and County Road 90, one mile west of Maple Plain.

NOV. 12 — Capt. Mike Klaphake, of the Army National Guard, will narrate General MacArthur’s farewell speech at the Veteran’s Day Program, set for 9:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, at the Delano High School Tiger Activity Center. The public is invited to attend. Bus transportation to DHS will be available, with the bus loading at 8:45 a.m. at the Delano American Legion, Bridge Avenue at Highway 12.

Reading assistance dog
NOV. 15 — Cuddle up and read with Annie, a certified reading assistance dog, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Delano Public Library, 160 Railroad Ave. E. Sign ups are on the same day for 15 minutes of one on one reading time. The library will provide books of all reading levels for a “pawsitive” reading experience.
