Champlin resident travels south with volunteer effort

Champlin resident, Clayton Maurer, is on the move again. Once again, he has teamed up with International Relief Teams, a nonprofit organization that assists victims of disaster, poverty and neglect. Maurer traveled with a volunteer construction team consisting of 17 people to Alabama on Sunday, Sept. 16 to assist the victims of a tornado that took place in April 2011.

For this trip, IRT is partnering with multi-denominational consortium called L.O.V.E (Locally Organized Volunteer Effort) who are providing relief to Jefferson County tornado victims where approximately 2,500 homes were destroyed/damaged.  This will be the organization’s third trip to Alabama to assist the victims of the tornado.
