Osseo Police

The following is a synopsis of some of the incidents that occurred in the City of Osseo from Oct. 4th through Oct. 17th, 2012.

Arrests:

Osseo Police arrested three individuals on a traffic stop on Oct. 5 while working a Towards Zero Deaths high visibility DWI enforcement campaign. Citations were issued for minor consumption, possession of an open container and a violation of the Foss Law.

Osseo Police arrested a 42-year-old Osseo woman on Oct. 8 on a Crow Wing County Warrant. She was booked at the Hennepin County Jail.

Osseo Police arrested a 20-year-old Avondale, Ariz. man on Oct. 11 while working a Towards Zero Deaths high visibility DWI enforcement campaign. The male was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia and released.

Osseo Police arrested a 21-year-old Maple Grove man on a traffic stop on County Road 81 on Oct. 13 for an outstanding Hennepin County warrant. His vehicle was impounded and he was transported to the Hennepin County Jail.

Osseo Police arrested a 28-year-old Champlin man on Hwy. 169 on Oct. 14 for fourth degree DWI and fourth degree alcohol concentration over .08. His vehicle was impounded and he was booked at the Champlin Police Department.

Osseo Police arrested a 28-year-old Osseo women after police were dispatched to a domestic assault on the 500 block of a Second Ave. N.E. on Oct. 14. The suspect was arrested for domestic assault and booked at the Hennepin County Jail.

Incidents:

Osseo Police responded to a theft report from the Osseo Senior High School on Oct. 11. A student reported a cell phone was stolen from a locked locker. The case is under investigation by the Hennepin County Detectives and the School Liaison. There are no suspects.

Osseo Police responded to an attempted theft from motor vehicles on the 200 block of County Road 81 on Oct. 11. The victim observed two males rummaging around in a company van however no items were taken. Police combed the area but were unable to locate the suspects.

Osseo Police responded to an audible intrusion alarm on Oct. 12 on the 100 block of Central Avenue. The alarm was accidently set off by a contractor. There are no charges pending.

Osseo Police responded to a vandalism complaint on the 10200 block of 93rd Ave. N. on Oct. 13. There are no suspects.

Osseo Police discovered a door to a business on the 200 block of Central Avenue that was left unsecure while checking businesses. Police searched the property but did not find any problems. The property owner was notified.

Osseo Police responded to suspicious activity complaint on Oct. 15 on the 200 block of Fifth Ave. N.E. The complaint reported an open door to a vacant home. Police searched the home and found no problems. The home was secured and the property manager was notified. There are no charges pending.

Osseo Police responded to an audible intrusion alarm at a business on the 50 block of Third Street N.E. on Oct. 15. No problems were found.

Osseo Police were dispatched to a verbal dispute on the 200 block of Seventh Ave. N.E. on Oct. 16. Osseo Police mediated the dispute. One party involved was transported to North Memorial Hospital by North Ambulance for a physiological evaluation.  There are no charges pending.

Medicals:

Osseo Police responded to Osseo Senior High School on Oct. 4 for a 17-year-old female with a possible sprained ankle. She was transported to North Memorial Hospital in Maple Grove by North Ambulance.

Osseo Police responded to the 200 block of Fourth Ave. S.E. for a 65-year-old male with a severe nose bleed. He was transported to North Memorial Hospital in Maple Grove by North Ambulance.

Osseo Police responded to a 62-year-old female with severe pain on Oct. 8 on the 500 block of Third Street S.E. She was transported to North Memorial Hospital by North Ambulance.

Osseo Police responded to a possible broken shoulder on Oct. 9 on the 50 block of Central Avenue. The 86-year-old patient was transported to the VA Medical Center by North Ambulance.

Osseo Police responded to a 16-year-old male that had fallen down and had neck and back pain during football practice at the Osseo High School on Oct. 11. He was transported to Mercy Hospital by North Ambulance.

Osseo Police responded to a 64-year-old female having trouble breathing on Oct. 12 on the 200 block of Fifth Ave. S.E. She was transported to Mercy Hospital by North Ambulance.

Osseo Police responded to a person that fell down on the 600 block of North Oaks Drive on Oct. 16. The 85-year-old patient was transported to North Memorial Hospital by North Ambulance.

Accidents:

Osseo Police responded to a 2-car property damage accident on the 100 block of Seventh Ave. S.E. on Oct. 11. Both drivers exchanged information and a state accident report was filed. One vehicle was towed from the scene. There are no charges pending.

Traffic Enforcement:

In late September, several police departments including Osseo Police teamed up with the Minnesota State Patrol Commercial Vehicle Inspectors (CVI) and stopped several commercial vehicles on County Road 81 in Osseo and issued 109 written warnings and 40 citations for commercial vehicle violations. Sixteen trucks and one driver were taken out of service.

In early October, Osseo Police conducted a crosswalk enforcement detail on Central Avenue. Over 20 vehicles were stopped and issued citations for failing to stop for a pedestrian in a marked crosswalk.

Osseo Police along with several other police departments have teamed up in the month of October to enforce Minnesota’s primary seat belt law. Extra officers will be on patrol in Osseo throughout the month looking for motorist not wearing their seat belts. The extra officers are being paid for by a grant funded by the Federal Government.  Please Buckle Up.
