(Editor’s note: The following information was provided by Dan Vogtman, Maple Grove City Council candidate.)
After living in the city for 17 years, I am announcing my candidacy for Maple Grove City Council. I am running for City Council to keep this city a great place to live for the next 17 years, as my wife Miranda and I raise our 2-year old daughter here.
Maple Grove is a great city and offers a great quality of live, but I believe we need fresh leadership that offers innovation and a new perspective to residents and businesses in the city. We need fair, unbiased leaders with unquestionable integrity.
Many folks I speak with are concerned that as their property values have fallen, their property taxes have not fallen. The city accounts for 27% of the average homeowners property tax bill. I am running to act as a budget watchdog to ensure our city spends your money prudently and effectively.
There are many other areas in our city, from streets to parks to forestry to police and fire that can be improved to better serve our residents. I offer you, the voter, a fair, proactive, responsive leader that will listen to your concerns and enact change for the better.
I ask for your vote on Nov. 6. www.danforcitycouncil.org
