CAPITAL PROJECT LEVY AUTHORIZATION
The board of Independent School District No. 279 (Osseo Area Schools) has proposed a capital project levy authorization in the amount of 3.529% times the net tax capacity of the school district. The estimated total cost of the projects to be funded over that time period is approximately $50,000,000.
The money raised by the capital project levy authorization will be used to cover the following costs:
• purchase and installation of classroom technology equipment to improve teaching and learning;
• purchase of curriculum materials in areas such as science, math, music and career and technical education;
• training for staff in effective use of educational technology; and
• maintenance of a reliable technology infrastructure.
The projects to be funded have received a positive review and comment from the Commissioner of Education.
