Dist. 279 Alpine ski team prepares for season, seeks new members

The Osseo-Maple Grove-Park Center Alpine ski team is gearing up for the 2012-13 season.

Returning athletes and new racers on the OMGPC team are anticipating an exciting season. The season runs from November to February. The OMGPC team provides students with the opportunity to participate in competitive downhill racing along with experiencing the importance of teamwork. It is comprised of students with past ski racing experience who have a desire to improve their technical abilities and for the recreational skiers who want to take their skiing to the next level.

Now entering its fourth season, the OMGPC team is a sanctioned, non-funded high school sport. They compete in the North Suburban Conference and can participate in the state tournament. The team is open to Osseo, Maple Grove and Park Center high school students. The team does not limit the number of racers or make any cuts. Any and all students grade seven through 12 are welcome to participate.
