Soccer: Rogers boys lose M-8 finale to Buffalo 1-0

Giving up a game-winner in the final minute for the second straight game, the Rogers Royals closed the regular season with a 1-0 loss to Buffalo at home on Thursday evening.

With 20 seconds left, the Bison scored off a throw-in. The ball was tipped around, hit the post and went in. (Name not available for this report).

Rogers goalie C.J. Rich stopped a penalty kick earlier.

Rogers, which lost to Monticello 4-3 in the final minute Tuesday, finished the regular season 2-6-1 in the Mississippi 8 and 3-11-1 overall. The Royals will start Section 8AA next Thursday.

St. Michael-Albertville was conference champion with a 7-1-1 record. Buffalo  was 4-2-2.
