School spirit parades down Oxbow Drive
Champlin Park High School brought back an old tradition by staging a parade during Homecoming Week, Oct. 1-5. The parade, held Wednesday, Oct. 3, included 25 units and the newly crowned Homecoming King and Queen.

- Champlin Park Marching Rebels provide a festive musical atmosphere for the parade.
- Football player Michael Sales drives some of his fellow teammates in a golf cart proudly sporting a Rebel flag.
- The Champlin Park High School cheerleaders break out their pink pom poms during the parade for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
- Champlin Park Homecoming King Tyler Lorentzen and Queen Jackie Johnson greet spectators along the parade route.
- Numerous school clubs and sporting groups participated in the parade including the Girls Hockey team.

Following the parade, senior girls hit the football field for Rebels With a Cause raising $1,150 in admissions to the game and donations. The money will be split between the four causes: ALS, Cystic Fibrosis, American Cancer Society & Champlin Park’s “Shelf”. The team that won was playing for ALS.
