THE CITY OF CORCORAN ORDAINS:
Section 1. Amendment of the City Code. Title X of the City Code of the City of Corcoran, Minnesota, is hereby amended by changing the classification on the City of Corcoran Zoning Map from Rural Residential (RR) to Public/Institutional (P-I) for the 11.84-acres and legally described as follows:
Lot 1, Block 1, Roehlke Addition, Hennepin County, Minnesota
Section 2. Effective Date. This amendment shall take effect upon its passage.

The school board met in regular session on Monday, August 20, 2012. The following items may be of interest:
• The board approved the minutes from the July 16 regular meeting and August 6 special meeting, staffing changes, bills totaling $335,303.29, open enrollments, and donations.
• The board heard comments from Susann Dye, candidate for House of Representative and Brian Doran, candidate for State Senate.
• The board heard reports from principals Ryan Jensen, Brenda Petersmeyer and Amy Denneson and activities director Glenn Klaphake.
• The board also heard reports and updates from Superintendent Paul Durand and Business Manager Sandy Strozyk.
• High School Principal Jensen reported on the results of the 2012 Senior Exit Survey.
• The board approved funding for the wRight Choice program as presented.
• The board approved the benefit schedule for licensed teachers hired for Early Childhood and School Readiness as presented.
• The board heard an update on student enrollment and projections.
• The board approved the resolution for a Grant Agreement with Hennepin County for the School Recycling Assistance Program.
• The board approved the schedule for fall 2012 activity event workers fees as presented.
• The board approved the resolution relating to the Election of School Board Members and Calling a School District General Election.
• The board approved the resolution relating to the Issuance of School Building bonds and Calling an Election thereon.

• The next regular meeting of the Board of Education is scheduled for Monday, September 17, 2012 at 6:30 PM in Rockford Middle School board room.

• The board recognized Nate Ulen, Galaxy Kids, Paula Wanous, Carey Sang, Darren Eliason and Larry Nordgren.
• The board approved the minutes from the August 20 regular meeting, staffing changes, bills totaling $709,158.78, open enrollments, and donations.
• The board heard comments from a Greenfield resident.
• Representatives from Taher, Inc gave an update on the food service program.
• A representative from Clifton Larson Allen auditing firm presented the 2011-12 audit results. The district had a clean audit for the 2011-12 school year.
• The board heard reports from principals Ryan Jensen, Brenda Petersmeyer and Amy Denneson.
• The board also heard reports and updates from Superintendent Paul Durand and Business Manager Sandy Strozyk.
• The board approved the 2011-12 Annual Report on Curriculum, Instruction and Student Achievement as presented.
• The board heard an update on student enrollment and projections.
• The board discussed email contact for board members.
• The board approved the proposed Property Tax Levy Payable 2013 as presented.
• The board approved the ECFE and School Readiness Teaching Scales and Community Education Instructor Scales as presented.

• District administration presented the effects of an unsuccessful bond vote to each building.
• The board approved a grant for classroom amplification systems.
• The board approved the principal evaluation model as presented.

• There will be a public tour on Wednesday, September 19 at 6 PM starting the Rockford Middle School.
• There is a work session scheduled for Monday, October 1, 2012 at 6 PM in the Rockford Middle School.
• A Public Hearing is scheduled for Thursday, October 11 at 6:30 PM in the Rockford Middle School gym. This is the first of three hearing on the bond issue. The other two will be held on October 23 and October 24.
• The next regular meeting of the Board of Education is scheduled for Monday, October 15, 2012 at 6:30 PM in Rockford Middle School board room.

Public Notice
The city council of the city of Medina has adopted Ordinance No. 536, an ordinance establishing a storm sewer improvement tax district (“the District”) for The Enclave at Brockton development. The ordinance establishes the ability for the city of Medina to acquire, construct, reconstruct, extend, maintain and otherwise improve storm sewer systems and related facilities within the District in accordance with the Minnesota Statutes, Sections 444.16 – 444.21 and to levy a tax on all taxable property within the District to finance such activities.

AMENDing chapter 5 of the INDEPENDENCE CITY CODE
sections 530.03, SUBD. 4 and 530.07, SUBD. 2, RELATING TO
BUILDING SETBACKS FROM WETLANDS
THE CITY OF INDEPENDENCE DOES ORDAIN:
Section 1. Sections 530.03, Subd. 4, and 530.07, Subd. 2 of the Independence City Code is hereby amended as follows:
530.03, Subd. 4, and 530.07, Subd. 2 Setbacks. All buildings and structures, including houses with attached garages or decks, must meet or exceed the following setbacks:
(a) Front yard setback a85 ft. from centerline of road
(b) Side yard setback ab30 ft. from side lot line
(c) Rear yard setback a40 ft. from rear lot line
(d) Setback from lakes, rivers
and streams 100 ft. from ordinary high mark
(e) Setback from wetlands 25 ft. from delineated boundary
10 ft. from the outside edge of
the required wetland buffer
(f) Fences, trees, shrubs, or other appurtenances are not allowed within any road right-of-way.
a (Except buildings housing livestock, which may not be located closer than 150 feet from an existing residential structure on all adjacent property.)
b (Except detached garages and other accessory buildings, which may be 15 feet from the side lot line.)
Section. 2. This ordinance shall take effect upon the day of publication.
