Rockford’s Homecoming took off with a great start, the crowing of this year’s king and queen.
Masters of Ceremony, Amanda Thingvold and Jesse Gabler introduced the five couples to an anxious crowd seated in the RHS auditorium. Adam Gerard, Karsten Poulson and Michael Sieg performed a number from the school’s upcoming musical, Guys and Dolls.
As candidates stood before the crowd, the crown was slipped on the new royals heads eliciting shouts, laughter and applause. Seniors Alexis Majeski and Dylan FitzSimmons are Rockford’s new reigning couple.
The big homecoming game, Rockford at home against Pierz-Healy, is at 7 p.m. with fireworks and a dance to follow.
