Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office

The following public safety summary information from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Unit is provided to residents as a public service. These highlights from Sept. 24 to Sept. 30, 2012, do not reflect all incidents handled or investigated by the HCSO during this time period.

In addition to the law enforcement services it provides throughout the county, the HCSO provides primary patrol services for the communities of Hassan Township, Greenfield, Medicine Lake and Fort Snelling, as well as the Hennepin County portions of Hanover and Rockford.

Rockford

On Sept. 29, deputies responded to an address on the 8000 block of Hwy. 55 for a 2-year-old that was found heading towards the road. While speaking with the women who found the child, the babysitter came running up and didn’t know how she had gotten out. Deputy took the information and returned the child. No other action was needed at this time.

On Sept. 30, deputies responded to an address on the 8000 block of Hwy. 55 for a runaway report. A 16-year-old female had left home and has not returned. She has a history of running away. A Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident and attempting to located her.

Greenfield

On Sept. 28, deputies responded to an address on the 5700 block of Linda Lane for a report of shots fired being heard. The homeowner reported hearing gun shots, then pellets hitting her home. Deputies located a juvenile neighbor who had been shooting birds on his property. All parties were advised and no further action was wanted by reporting party. Deputy cleared.

On Sept. 30, deputies responded to an address on the 6900 block of 85th Avenue for a damage to property report. The homeowner reports overnight someone removed the lights by driveway and threw them down on driveway, breaking them. Loss is estimated at $400. A Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.

On Sept. 30, deputies responded to an address on the 5900 block of Hwy. 55 for a damage to property report. The homeowner reports their mailbox had been damaged. A Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident.

Hanover

On Sept. 26, deputies responded to a business on the 29900 block of 109th Ave. N. for an assault report. Two employees had gotten in an argument the previous day that resulted in some pushing and shoving. One employee was afraid to go to work now. A Hennepin County Sheriff’s Detective is investigating the incident.

Other

During the week of Sept. 24 to Sept. 30, 2012, Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies also issued or provided: two citations and one motorist assist.
