Crimson girls run 7th in mega meet

The Maple Grove girls’ cross country team placed seventh in the Milaca Mega Meet Saturday, Sept. 22.

The race drew over 5,000 runners from around the state.

The Crimson had a strong showing and tied for seventh with Prior Lake out of 28 teams and just behind top ranked Wayzata, Roseville and Moorhead.

Leading the varsity team was rookie seventh grader Tia Johnson. Top 10 times on the team included: Tia Johnson 15:20, Kendall Johnson 15:47, Paige Cassibo 15:49, Olivia Rosenow 16:19, Genna Brakob 16:20, Taylor Rosaker 16:20, Lauren Schiedler 16:35, Leah Jackels 16:40, Jordan Quale 16:48 and Nicole Schwieters 16:49.

The Crimson team are looking forward to the Northwest Suburban Conference meet Oct. 11.
