The North Hennepin Area Chamber of Commerce and League of Women Voters will host several 2012 Candidate Forums.
Area residents will be voting to fill the State Senate 34 seat (Incumbent Warren Limmer and Sharon Bahensky), State Representative 34A (Incumbent Joyce Peppin and Adam Fisher) and State Representative 34B (Incumbent Kurt Zellers and David Hoden).
Two seats on the Maple Grove City Council will be voted on. On the Maple Grove ballot are incumbents Leann Sargent and Erik Johnson, along with Mark Aubart Sr., David Brown, Jay Dirks, Sherri Johnson and Dan Vogtman.
In Osseo, residents will be voting for a mayor and two city council members. On the ballot for mayor are current Mayor Al Lindquist and current City Councilor Duane Poppe. Up for City Councilor are incumbent Mark Schulz, Claudia Gisvold, John Goth, Bonnie Heinen and Daniel Spanier.
There will be a forum in Maple Grove Thursday, Oct. 4, at the Maple Grove Government Center, 12800 Arbor Lakes Parkway. City Council candidates will speak from 6:30 to 8 p.m. State Senate and State Representative candidates will speak from 8:15 to 9:45 p.m.
Osseo will have two different forums. The first forum will be Thursday, Sept. 27 at Osseo City Hall, 415 Central Ave. State Senate and State Representative candidates will speak from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. The second forum will be Tuesday, Oct. 2, at Osseo City Hall. City Council candidates will speak from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. and Mayoral candidates will speak from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
