Elizabeth Cutter of Minneapolis is running for an open seat on the Hennepin County District Court bench.
She came in first in the primary with approximately 42 percent of the vote. Steven Antolak came in second with approximately 22 percent and will also be on the ballot.
Cutter is a senior assistant Hennepin County Attorney in charge of felony domestic violence prosecution. She also serves on the Domestic Violence Steering Committee, the Fatality Review Team, and the Family Violence Coordinating Council.
She was president of Minnesota Women Lawyers in 2010-2011 and selected as Attorney of the Year in 2011 by “Minnesota Lawyer.” She serves on the District Ethics Committee and was a member of the Nominating Committee for the Hennepin County Bar Association.
Cutter is a board member at Interact Center for the Arts. She has also served on the board of Minnesota Comprehensive Health Association and on the Enrollee Appeals Committee for more than 20 years.
Former Minnesota Supreme Court Chief Justice Kathleen Blatz appointed cutter to the Minnesota Rules of Evidence Committee.
