MG Farmers Market

NOW TO OCT. 18 — The Maple Grove Farmers Market takes place every Thursday now through Oct. 18, from 3 to 7 p.m. (through September) and from 3 to 6 p.m. in October. The farmers market is at the Maple Grove Community Center, 12951 Weaver Lake Road in Maple Grove. All items locally grown and produced by the 50+ vendors — fresh produce, flowers, artisan breads, baked goods, eggs, cheese, meats, canned goods, jams, honey, syrup, sweets and more. In addition, treats such as ice cream, kettle corn, and a wide variety of baked goods are available. Looking for a little something more substantial? ‘Diary of Anne Frank’

SEPT. 21 TO OCT. 21 — This fall, Yellow Tree Theater, 320 Fifth Ave. S.E. in Osseo, opens their fifth season with “The Diary of Anne Frank” by the late playwright Wendy Kesselman. Free shred-it event

SEPT. 22 — There will be a free shred-it event Saturday, Sept. 22, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Maple Grove Edina Realty office, 13603 80th Circle N. This is a way to safely dispose of personal documents. There is a two-box or two-bag maximum per person.

OSH Class of 1972

SEPT. 22 — The OSH Class of 1972 will host its 40th reunion Saturday, Sept. 22, from 6 p.m. to midnight at the Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion 260 Fourth Ave. S.E. in Osseo. Classical Music Concert Indian artist

SEPT. 22 — Twin Cities will host a classical Indian music concert by renowned music artist and Catholic priest from India, Dr. Fr. Paul Poovathingal CMI, popularly known as “the singing priest.” It will be at the Hindu Temple of Minnesota (Nath Auditorium), 10530 Troy Lane N. in Maple Grove Saturday, Sept. 22, from 6.30 to 8.30 p.m. Dr. Fr. Poovathingal is a disciple of Dr. K. J. Yesudas and is the first Catholic Priest to earn a Ph.D. in Carnatic music in India. SEPT. 24 — Hennepin County Farm Bureau President, Marvin Johnson, announces the Annual Meeting will be Monday, Sept. 24, at the Corcoran City Center, County Road 116 between County Roads 30 and 10. SEPT. 28 — The Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion Auxiliary and Legion Riders will be having a Steak Fry Friday, Sept. 28, at the Osseo-American Legion, 260 Fourth Ave. S.E. in Osseo. The usual ‘steak fry’ menu includes steak, walleye, and/or shrimp served with a baked potato and coleslaw or salad. ‘Murder on Main Street’ series

SEPT. 29 — The Maple Grove Library, 8001 Main Street N., will host a mystery writer’s series. The next program is “Murder on Main Street Author Talk: Julie Kramer” Saturday, Sept. 29, at 1 p.m. Join in for an afternoon with award-winning author and former WCCO-TV investigative journalist. Kramer will talk about her hot new mystery, “Shunning Sarah,” set in the Amish area of rural Minnesota. The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Maple Grove Library. The program is free and open to adults.

Legion Auxiliary Fall Fashion Show

SEPT. 30 — The Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion Auxiliary will be hosting a fall fashion show Sunday, Sept. 30. The social starts at 12:30 p.m. followed by dinner and the style show. Doors open at 11:45 a.m.  Christopher & Banks will be providing our models with fall fashions. Tickets for the ‘Step into Fall Fashions’ show are $10 in advance, $12 at the door.
