NOW TO OCT. 18 — The Maple Grove Farmers Market takes place every Thursday now through Oct. 18, from 3 to 7 p.m. (through September) and from 3 to 6 p.m. in October. The farmers market is at the Maple Grove Community Center, 12951 Weaver Lake Road in Maple Grove. Classical Music Concert Indian artist
SEPT. 22 — Twin Cities will host a classical Indian music concert by renowned music artist and Catholic priest from India, Dr. Fr. Paul Poovathingal CMI, popularly known as “the singing priest.” It will be at the Hindu Temple of Minnesota (Nath Auditorium), 10530 Troy Lane N. in Maple Grove Saturday, Sept. 22, from 6.30 to 8.30 p.m. Dr. Fr. Poovathingal is a disciple of Dr. K. J. Yesudas and is the first Catholic Priest to earn a Ph.D. in Carnatic music in India. The next program is “Murder on Main Street Author Talk: Julie Kramer” Saturday, Sept. 29, at 1 p.m. Join in for an afternoon with award-winning author and former WCCO-TV investigative journalist. Kramer will talk about her hot new mystery, “Shunning Sarah,” set in the Amish area of rural Minnesota. The program is sponsored by the Friends of the Maple Grove Library. SEPT. 30 — The Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion Auxiliary will be hosting a fall fashion show Sunday, Sept. 30. The social starts at 12:30 p.m. followed by dinner and the style show.
