The Rogers tennis team, defending conference champions, lost their Mississippi 8 opener to Cambridge-Isanti 4-3 in a hard-fought match Tuesday at home with mostly close scores.

Picking up wins were Rachel Dodd and Samantha Fitzpatrick in singles, and Sydney Livingstron-Shriti Jagannathon in doubles.

The Royals (0-3-1 overall) will  host Monticello on Thursday.
