Hamel Lions Flea Market
THROUGH OCTOBER — The Hamel Lions Flea Market will be open every Sunday from 6 a.m. through noon in the parking lot at the Medina Entertainment Center, 500 Highway 55, Medina. SEPT. 15 — The new Delano Community Market is open on Saturdays through Sept. 15 from 9 a.m. to noon on River Street in downtown Delano. Offerings include food, artwork, crafts and other unique goods. Shop while listening to live music. A table is available for home-based businesses each week. Loretto Fun Fest
SEPT. 15 — Loretto Fun Fest, Saturday, Sept. 15, will offer family and adult entertainment from 1 p.m. until midnight in downtown Loretto. The menu includes children’s activities from 1 to 7 p.m. in Loretto Lions Park, market and music on West Railway Street from 1 to 7 p.m., Ancient Drum from 3 to 4 p.m., Local Rhythm from 4:10 to 5:10 p.m., the Prairie Boys from 5:15 to 7:45 p.m. and fireworks from the softball fields at 8:10 p.m. Highlight of a street dance on West Railway Street from 8:30 p.m. to midnight will be an Irresistibles Sweet Soul Show featuring Mick Sterling. A Loretto Fun Fest button is needed for entrance to all events. Cost is $10 in advance, $12 the day of the event and $10 on day of event with food shelf item.

Knitting 101 Plus
SEPT. 15 & 22 — The Delano Public Library, 160 Railroad Ave. E., is offering a Knitting 101 Plus class suitable for teen and adult novice or beginner knitters. Delano blood drive
SEPT. 17 — The American Red Cross will hold a blood drive at the Delano American Legion, located on Bridge Avenue at Highway 12, from 1 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 17. Reading assistance dog
sept. 20 — Cuddle up and read with Annie, a certified reading assistance dog, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 20, at the Delano Public Library, 160 Railroad Ave. E. Sign ups are on the same day for 15 minutes of one on one reading time. The library will provide books of all reading levels for a “pawsitive” reading experience. Medina Celebration Day
SEPT. 22 — Fireworks at about 8 p.m. will climax festivities at Medina Celebration Day Saturday, Sept. 22, at Hamel Legion Park, 3200 Mill Drive. Beginning at 4 p.m., visitors can wander through a business expo and farmers market, play bingo and stop at food vendors. Family activities will start at 4:30 p.m. and include a Civil War re-enactment, K-9 and police car demonstrations, rides on an antique fire truck, “Smokey” the bear, inflatable bounce toy, helicopter visit, city plow truck, pumpkin painting, games and more.
Fall Heritage Festival
SEPT. 22 — The Fall Heritage Festival is returning to downtown Delano from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22. Visitors can stop at booths containing work of area artists, farmers’ produce, vendors’ wares and information from businesses and organizations. Food, a medallion hunt, chili cook-off, musical entertainment and more will round out offerings of the day. Event sponsors are the Delano Chamber of Commerce and the Delano Franklin Township Historical Society.
Girl Scout New Member Night
