Police identify pedestrian killed in Maple Grove

Maple Grove Police have now identified the name of the pedestrian killed in an early morning accident on Aug. 23.

The female has been identified as Trina Renee Kincaid, 42, of Maple Grove. She was identified with the assistance of the Hennepin County Crime Lab and the Hennepin County Medical Examiner.

Around 1:36 a.m. Aug. 23, Maple Grove Police received the phone call of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Weaver Lake Road just east of Main Street.

According to Maple Grove Police, “when officers responded to the scene they found a pedestrian victim deceased.”

The 40-year-old driver of the vehicle that struck the victim stopped at the scene. According to Maple Grove Police Capt. Tracy Stille, the driver was “pretty shaken up.”

He added, “The driver has been cooperative and there is no recommendation for charges.”

Police say another motorist called 911.

The Maple Grove Police Department also received assistance from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.

The incident is still under investigation according to Maple Grove Police Capt. Keith Terlinden.
