Rogers cross country squad one returns state qualifier, Reed Parent, and otherwise a boys and girls squad with two seniors among 40 runners.

Three good veterans who teamed with Parent, now a junior, to place fourth in conference and sixth in section have graduated, leaving lots of openings.

“We lost a lot of strength and experience … those guys had been around for quite some time,” noted coach Steve Leuer, but he added that there’s good  potential in the ranks and the young guys will  have a chance to spread their wings.

“They will be the ones looked to lead the pack, instead of just following along.  It’s always fun to see the young’s bucks step into that kind of role and figure out what they are really capable of.”
