Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office

The following public safety summary information from the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Unit is provided to residents as a public service. These highlights from Aug. 20 to Aug. 26, 2012, do not reflect all incidents handled or investigated by the HCSO during this time period.

In addition to the law enforcement services it provides throughout the county, the HCSO provides primary patrol services for the communities of Hassan Township, Greenfield, Medicine Lake and Fort Snelling, as well as the Hennepin County portions of Hanover and Rockford.

Dayton

On Aug. 21, deputies responded to an address on the 16500 block of Territorial Road to assist Dayton PD with a verbal domestic. Both parties were advised. No other action was needed.

On Aug. 22, deputies responded to an address on the 18200 block of Diamond Lake Court to assist Dayton PD with a gas line break. A landscaper at this address hit a buried gas line while digging. Center Point Energy had already been contacted. Dayton Fire advised no further assistance was needed.

Rockford

On Aug. 23, deputies responded to an address on the 8000 block of Hwy. 55 for a medical. A 74-year-old male having heart problems. North ambulance arrived and transported him to Buffalo Hospital.

Greenfield

On Aug. 20, deputies responded to a business on the 7500 block of Hwy. 55 for a theft report. An employee reports someone pumped $28.78 of gas into their vehicle and failed to pay. Deputies made contact with registered owner of vehicle who stated she would return to pay for the gas. No other action was needed.

On Aug. 20, deputies responded to an address on the 7400 block of Fern Court for a medical. A toddler had fallen off a chair and hit her head. Fire Department arrived and checked the child. The parents refused ambulance and wanted to drive the child themselves. No other action was needed.

On Aug. 22, deputies responded to an address on the 8900 block of Greenfield Road for a grass fire. Deputies spoke with the property owner. He had a permit to burn some old trees. Loretto Fire was cancelled. No action needed.

On Aug. 23, deputies responded to an address on the 7200 block of 82nd Ave. N. for a theft report. A male reports several items taken from his vehicle overnight while it was parked in his driveway. Loss is estimated at $350. A Hennepin County Sheriff’s Detective is investigating the incident.

On Aug. 25, deputies responded to a business on the 7500 block of Hwy. 55 for a theft report. Someone had put $38 of gas into their vehicle and left without paying. A Hennepin County Sheriff’s Detective is investigating the incident.

On Aug. 25, deputies responded to an address on the 7600 block of 84th Ave. N. for a neighbor dispute. Ongoing dispute with neighbors. The reporting party stated the other neighbor had swerved the lawnmower at her kids on their dirt bikes as they rode in the ditch. All parties advised. No other action was needed.

On Aug. 25, deputies responded to an address on the 7300 block of Kurt Street to check the welfare of the resident. The caller reports the lawn hasn’t been mowed and the front door was open. Deputy made contact with the resident and all was fine. No assistance was needed.

On Aug. 25, deputies responded to an address on the 5100 block of 71st Lane N. to check the welfare of a juvenile living at the residence. All was fine, no assistance needed.

Other

During the week of Aug. 20 to Aug. 26, 2012, Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office patrol deputies also issued or provided: 13 citations, 14 written/verbal warnings, six motorist assists and one property damage accident.
