Eastman Nature Center grand re-opening is set for Oct. 14

Come celebrate the grand re-opening of the bigger and better Eastman Nature Center Sunday, Oct. 14, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Eastman Nature Center, in Elm Creek Park Reserve in Dayton.

Enjoy refreshments, an opening ceremony at 2 p.m., face painting, and puppet shows. Event-goers can make and decorate their own hiking staff, a wooden bird feeder (courtesy of Elpis Enterprises) and a recycled-tube bird feeder (courtesy of Creative KidStuff).

People can also reacquaint themselves with the snakes, turtles, salamanders and owl. Explore the all new hands-on exhibits or a self-guided trail hike.

The new 13,000-square-foot building features quiet reading and observation rooms, larger classrooms, a much larger exhibit area with wildlife watching, all-new professional exhibits, an open-air deck, a small coffee service, public wi-fi signal, and an after-hours restroom.

Parking is off-site with a shuttle. See www.threeriversparks.org for parking details.
