Beginning Tuesday, Aug. 21, South Diamond Lake Road closed down to through traffic for approximately six weeks from one-quarter mile west of Zanzibar Lane to Vinewood Lane. The signed detour route is posted on Brockton Lane (County Road 13), North Diamond Lake Road (County Road 144), and Dayton River Road (County Road 12).
Construction along the above mention portion of South Diamond Lake Road will include reclaiming the existing bituminous surface, replacing storm sewer culverts under the road, and widening the existing roadbed approximately 3 feet on each side of the road.
For property owners with homes in the construction zone, there may be times during the construction where there will be limited or no access to some residents’ driveways (estimate 3 to 4 hours) but these instances will only occur when the work is directly in front of that home. The City of Dayton will notify residents when these times will occur.
By ordinance the contractor is allowed to work between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Friday. However, the city plans to coordinate with the contractor to restore full driveway access to the extent possible by
6 p.m. every evening and they may not interrupt that access until 7 a.m. the following morning Monday through Friday. At this time there is no proposed Saturday construction.
