The following incidents were reported by West Hennepin Public Safety between July 23 and July 28.
On July 25, at 10:50 a.m. a two-inch main high pressurized gas line was cut and blowing large amounts of gas into the air at Boundary and Highway 12. Local businesses were evacuated. Maple Plain Fire assisted Center Point Energy in capping the line. Medina, Mound, Orono police departments and West Hennepin PSD coordinated the traffic detour around Maple Plain. Traffic was shut down for approximately two hours. Center Point Energy was able to fix the leak and get it capped after about two hours.
On July 25, at 2:08 p.m. there was a report of a check in the amount of $2,600 was written on a closed account to a business on the 4900 block of Industrial Street.
On July 26, at 6:35 a.m. sometime overnight, unknown person(s) stole five golf ball washers from a golf course at 823 Copeland Road. The washers were on a stand with two towels hanging off to the side; the towels were left. Brand Name is Par Aide/hunter green in color, approximate loss is $1,200.
On July 28, at 7:01 a.m. a 61-year-old female motorist from Hanover was driving northbound on County Road 92 N when she fell asleep and struck a tree. Motorist crossed over the center of the road, went into the ditch, struck a tree, came out of the ditch and came to rest back on the shoulder of the road. Motorist had minor scratches and cuts on her face from the glass breaking on her front windshield.
On July 23, at 9:02 p.m. there was a report of a gas drive off at Olson’s Market in Maple Plain, approximately $9 in gas. A 27-year-old male from Delano was located and said that he believes he may have put his card in backwards. He said he did see the sign on the pump that said “smile, you are on camera” so it wasn’t like he was going to do a drive off. Gas was paid in full the next day.
On July 27, at 12:55 p.m. there was a report that a solicitor could not provide proof of solicitor’s permit from the city of Maple Plain on the 1400 block of Halgren Road. Solicitor was not located.
On July 28, at 2:05 a.m. there was a report that someone reported seeing a MTC bus — all black in color, driving through the neighborhood and thought it was strange. It was found persons were just down town and had rented a bus that was black like a MTC type bus. They had given the driver directions to go around on Rainbow to get back to County Road 83 and back to the cities.
On July 28, at 3:11 a.m. there was a report that someone moved the construction barrels and cones on Highway 12 and Halgren Road, blocking the roadway. The cones and barrels were removed to open up the highway.
