CPHS hosts back-to-school Publicity Day

Champlin Park High School is hosting a new back-to-school type event for students called, “Publicity Day.” The event is for students in grades 10 through 12 on Tuesday, Aug. 14 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Here’s a run-down of the numerous important activities are scheduled for the day.

 

INDIVIDUAL PICTURES

Individual pictures will be taken on Publicity Day for grades 10 and 11. This is different timing than in the past. Photos must me taken even if no packet purchase is required. This is mandatory before picking up a class schedule.

 

CLASS SCHEDULE

Class schedules will not be mailed as in the past but will be available for pick up at Publicity Day. Students that miss picking up their schedule on Publicity Day will have it mailed to them at the end of August.

 

IMPORTANT FORMS

During Publicity Day students in 10th grade must turn in a transportation letter signed by a parent. All students must turn in a parent-signed emergency contact form.

Parking permits will be available for purchase on the school website after Aug. 9. Since a parent signature is required students are encouraged to access the form on the website in advance.

 

SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

The activities office will have a display with information on many different types of activities available to students throughout the year including fine arts, athletics and service organization. Students will have the opportunity to sign up and receive more information on these activities.

 

OTHER

Publicity Day is an opportunity for students to deposit money into their lunch account. Checks are the preferred method of payment. Items will also be for sale in the school store.

 

MAILING

The school will be sending a mailing to student homes around Aug. 6. Look for the mailing to include: a cover letter, emergency contact information to be corrected or completed; a transportation letter with policies to be signed by a parent; a letter from the guidance staff regarding schedules and changes; volunteer involvement form to be filled out and a picture envelope. All items requiring signatures including the picture packet envelope will be required to be returned to the school on Publicity Day Tuesday, Aug. 14. To attend, enter through Door E-4 and proceed to the cafeteria/auditorium.
