Champlin voters head to polls for primaries Aug. 14

Polls will be open in Champlin for the 2012 Primary Election Tuesday, Aug. 14 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Champlin voters will be asked to vote for their Republican candidate for the 3rd Congressional District. Candidates are John Howard III and incumbent Erik Paulsen.

They will also be asked to vote on a Three Rivers Park District Board of Commissioners — District Two commissioner. Candidates are incumbent Marilynn Corcoran, Jennifer DeJournett and Richard Theisen.



The city of Champlin will be using Champlin United Methodist Church as the new polling location for Ward 1 in the upcoming elections. The church is located at 921 Downs Road, Champlin.

The church location replaces the former Champlin Elementary School, which can no longer be used as that facility is officially closed.

Information about polling locations including the change will be mailed to all voters from Hennepin County. The remainder of Champlin polling locations will remain the same. Therefore, the official polling locationsa re as follows:

Ward 1: Champlin United Methodist Church, 921 Downs Road, Champlin

Ward 2: Champlin Ice Forum, 12165 Ensign Avenue North, Champlin

Ward 3: Servant of Christ Lutheran Church, 740 East Hayden Lake Road, Champlin
