STMA 7th, 8th grade cross country to start

Cross country for St. Michael-Albertville seventh- and eighth-graders will start with the eligibility meeting Monday, Aug. 13, at the Middle School West auditorium.

The meeting will start at 6 p.m. for all students that attend Middle School East and at 7:30 p.m. for all students that attend Middle School West.

At the eligibility meeting, attended by student/athletes and their parent(s), eligibility forms will be turned in and activity fee paid, if not already taken care of. Middle School Activities Director, Scott Sukalski, will speak and review rules for sports eligibility.

The STMA Jr. High cross country coach is Paul Jeffery. Following the large group meeting in the auditorium, Coach Jeffery will meet with the cross country runners and parents at a location to be determined in Middle School West. At that meeting, STMA cross country apparel may be ordered, season schedules will be passed out, and Coach Jeffery will address the parents and student/athletes.

Boys and girls in the 7th or 8th grade that attend STMA Middle East or STMA Middle School West, or home-schooled students in 7th or 8th grade that live within the STMA school district boundaries are eligible to compete in Jr. High cross country.

First practice will be Monday Aug. 27, and details and times will be announced at the eligibility meeting. Anyone that wants to participate in STMA Jr. High cross country, but is unable to attend the August 13th eligibility meeting, should contact Scott Sukalski (Activities Director) at 497-6501, ext. 4124 (West office) or ext. 3003 (East office), for information.
