MG Farmers Market

NOW TO OCT. 18 — The Maple Grove Farmers Market takes place every Thursday now through Oct. 18, from 3 to 7 p.m. (through September) and from 3 to 6 p.m. in October. The farmers market is at the Maple Grove Community Center, 12951 Weaver Lake Road in Maple Grove. All items locally grown and produced by the 50+ vendors — fresh produce, flowers, artisan breads, baked goods, eggs, cheese, meats, canned goods, jams, honey, syrup, sweets and more. In addition, treats such as ice cream, kettle corn, and a wide variety of baked goods are available. Looking for a little something more substantial? Ready to eat foods such as BBQ pork, hot dogs, burgers as well as wood-fired pizza are offered to make a meal. Weekly live music, free recipes and family storytime and a fun filled season of chef demos, master gardeners and frequent shopper program — something for all ages. MG National Night Out

AUG. 7 — Maple Grove Police and Fire and the city will host its annual National Night Out events Tuesday, Aug. 7. Kick off activities begin with a free BBQ lunch and emergency equipment show from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Maple Grove Community Center, 12951 Weaver Lake Road. Movies in the Park

AUG. 7 — The Osseo Movie in the Park event for Tuesday, Aug. 7, will be “The Help.” Cartoons will be shown at 7:30 p.m. The movie will begin at 8:30 p.m. All events take place at Boerboom Veterans Memorial Park, across from City Hall, 415 Central Ave. People should bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on. In case of rain, the event will be moved to Thursday.
