Maple Grove resident receives volleyball honor

Tom Fuglestad of Maple Grove has received a North Country Region Robert L. Lindsay Meritorious Service Award. The award is given for contributing outstanding participation, motivation and other services in the promotion of volleyball.

Fuglestad is the founder and director of the Crossfire Volleyball Club. Crossfire was established in 2003. Fuglestad has been coaching for nine years with Crossfire in all age levels. He has also been the head volleyball coach at Heritage Christian Academy for the last eight years with a record of 156-88. He received the Section 4A High School Coach of the Year in 2011 and received a CAP III Coaching Certification from USA Volleyball. For the past five years he has been an IMPACT Instructor for North Country Region.

Fuglestad received a bachelor of arts degree in business administration and religion from Concordia College-Moorhead and a master of arts in Teaching from National-Louis University in Chicago.
