MG Farmers Market

NOW TO OCT. 18 — The Maple Grove Farmers Market takes place every Thursday now through Oct. 18, from 3 to 7 p.m. (through September) and from 3 to 6 p.m. in October. The farmers market is at the Maple Grove Community Center, 12951 Weaver Lake Road in Maple Grove. All items locally grown and produced by the 50+ vendors — fresh produce, flowers, artisan breads, baked goods, eggs, cheese, meats, canned goods, jams, honey, syrup, sweets and more. In addition, treats such as ice cream, kettle corn, and a wide variety of baked goods are available. Looking for a little something more substantial? Ready to eat foods such as BBQ pork, hot dogs, burgers as well as wood-fired pizza are offered to make a meal. Weekly live music, free recipes and family storytime and a fun filled season of chef demos, master gardeners and frequent shopper program — something for all ages. Nadia Cakes grand opening

JULY 26 — “Cupcake Wars” Winner Nadia Cakes is celebrating its Maple Grove grand opening, 11650 Fountains Drive, by offering customers $1 cupcakes from open to close (limit one per person) Thursday, July 26. The store will be open July 26, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Nadia Cakes is a family-run bakery owned by husband and wife duo Carlos and Abby Jimenez. Wanting to open a second bakery — but not in the competitive Los Angeles market, the Jimenez’ spent five weeks during the summer of 2011 visiting 23 states before selecting Maple Grove as their home and the home of their newest bakery. Maple Grove citywide picnic

JULY 26 — Maple Grove residents can join in the Citywide Picnic Thursday, July 26, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Lions Pavilion at the Maple Grove Community Center, 12951 Weaver Lake Road. The Maple Grove Lions Club will also host this event, serving up burgers, brats, salads, chips and either pop or water for $6.

Summer Faire

JULY 26 — The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes in Maple Grove is hosting the Summer Faire Concert Series Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m. The July 26 concert is Tim Mahoney, performing alternative pop rock. Pancake breakfast to benefit CROSS

JULY 28 — Malone’s Bar & Grill is hosting a pancake breakfast to benefit CROSS Food Shelf Saturday, July 28, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The suggested donation is $8 per person, which includes breakfast and a beverage. Join in at Malone’s for breakfast and help CROSS Food Shelf, which serves Maple Grove, Osseo, west Champlin, Rogers, Dayton and Corcoran.

MG National Night Out

Kick off activities begin with a free BBQ lunch and emergency equipment show from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Maple Grove Community Center, 12951 Weaver Lake Road.
