Dale Patnode

Services for Dale Frank Patnode, 78, of Minneapolis and formerly of Corcoran were Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Corcoran.

Rev. John A. Gallas was the Celebrant. Casket bearers were Jason Majeski, Brett Patnode, Eric Patnode, Chris Hagen, David Hagen and Paul Hagen.

Private Interment with military rites was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.

Mr. Patnode died Saturday, July 21, at Hennepin County Medical Center.

He was born July 2, 1934, in Corcoran the son of Louis and Mabel Zahler Patnode.

He honorably served his Country in The United States Army from 1954-1956 and was stationed in Germany.

On June 13, 1959, Dale F. Patnode and Patricia A. Hagen were joined in holy marriage at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Medicine Lake. God blessed their marriage with five children.

Mr. Patnode engaged in dairy farming for several years near Corcoran.  He also owned and operated Patnode’s General Store in Corcoran for 16 years.  The Patnode family sold vegetable produce at the Farmer’s Market on Lyndale Avenue in Minneapolis for more than 40 years. He formerly worked at Honeywell.

He was a lifelong member of The Church of St. Thomas The Apostle in Corcoran. He formerly belonged to the Corcoran Lions Club and to the Hamel American Legion Post # 394.

Survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Patricia “Pat”; children, Dannea Bermel (Roger Schalo) of Moundsview, Dennis Patnode of Minneapolis, Michael Patnode and Gary (Connie) Patnode, all of Corcoran, and Christine (Jason) Majeski of Rockford; grandchildren, Brett and Eric Patnode; Alexis, Bria and Cassie Majeski; Sheree Bermel, Shelly Bermel and Bobbi Jo Henricks; Dennis, Courtney, Jeremy and Josh; great grandchildren; great, great grandchildren; a sister: Diane Morin of Buffalo; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, many other relatives and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Tommy and Terry and by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Otto and Deloris Hagen.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
