Meet your 2012 Maple Grove Ambassador candidates

The Maple Grove Ambassador Program has kicked-off the 2012 season. People can see all 18 candidates and outgoing royalty during the Maple Grove Days Pierre Bottineau Parade Thursday, July 12, beginning at 6:10 p.m.

On Friday, July 13, during the Maple Grove Ambassador Coronation, three candidates will be selected by an independent panel of judges to serve as Maple Grove Ambassadors, representing the city of Maple Grove throughout various community and civic events. Coronation begins at 7 p.m. at Maple Grove Senior High School. Tickets are $10 at the door, or $2 off with a Maple Grove Days button.

Join the newly crowned Maple Grove Ambassadors at the Gala in the Grove is free and will take place from 9 p.m. to midnight at the Osseo-Maple Grove American Legion, 260 Fourth Ave. S.E. in Osseo.

The new 2012 Maple Grove Ambassadors will be walking around Maple Grove Days festivities Saturday, July 14.

Sunita Arrell

Sunita is a high school senior, a council member in the National Honor Society and a three-time academic letter winner. She enjoys volunteering and working with kids, and she has career aspirations in pediatrics. In her free time, she stays active by running, biking, cross country skiing and reading. Courtney Aydt

Courtney recently graduated from Osseo Senior High and received the Star Student Award for student activities. While in high school, she was the Snow Days Queen, participated on the Yearbook Team and consistently made the Honor Roll. She will be attending the University of Minnesota Duluth in the fall with aspirations to become a special education teacher. Sponsored by Jane Schmidt at Keller Williams Realty.

Justine Barnes

Justine is a junior at Maple Grove Senior High. She currently sits as the Vice President of Crimson Cabinet and is a member of the National Honor Society. She plans to apply for DePaul and Loyola University in Chicago this summer. She is very active in the community and is looking forward to a fun summer with the Ambassador Program. Ashley Brant

Ashley is currently a senior at Maple Grove Senior High, with plans to attend college to study marketing and to someday study abroad. Ashley enjoys playing soccer, running track and working out in her free time. Ashley’s favorite childhood memory includes picking tomatoes in her mother’s homemade garden and selling them door-to-door with her little brother. Sponsored by LearningRX.

Paige Clark

Paige is a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin-Madison majoring in finance, international business and Spanish. Her career aspirations include becoming a lawyer for an international company. In her free time, she enjoys running, soccer and cross-country skiing. Page is currently training for her second marathon. Sponsored by Mathnasium.

Laura Fisher

Laura recently graduated from Maple Grove Senior High on the A Honor Roll. While in high school she was a member of the National Honor Society, Link Crew and received the Student of the Year Award for social studies. Laura will be studying pre-med at Iowa State University, with hopes of starting a career in health care or forensic science. Sponsored by Kozlak-Radulovich Funeral Chapel.

Libby Gibson

Libby recently graduated from Maple Grove Senior High as a National Honor Society Member and Link Crew Leader. She plans to attend NDSU in the fall to major in hospitality and tourism management, with hopes of becoming an event planner someday. In her free time, Libby enjoys playing soccer, singing and cross country skiing. Sponsored by Z’s Smokin Bones.

Lauren Henke

Lauren is a sophomore at the University of Minnesota Rochester studying sciences with hopes of a future career in medicine as a doctor or physician’s assistant. She enjoys working with kids and loves to volunteer and give back to her community. Sponsored by MGS Machine Corp.

Kadrian Hill

Kadrian recently graduated from Maple Grove Senior high, with plans to attend the College of St. Benedict and major in management. While in high school, she was a Girl’s State Representative and the Science Student of the Year. In Kadrian’s free time, she stays active by figure skating, swimming, playing ultimate frisbee, camping and biking. Sponsored by Country Chevrolet.

Emilee Kaupp

Emilee is currently studying at North Hennepin Community College, with plans to attend the University of Minnesota to major in pre-med or education. She has a passion for working with kids and people with special needs. In Emilee’s free time, she enjoys cheerleading, swimming and summer bonfires. Sponsored by Clix Portraits.

Kelly Lindahl

Kelly recently graduated from Maple Grove Senior High on the A Honor Roll and with letters in both gymnastics and academics. She plans to attend Gustavus Adolphus College in the fall. Kelly’s dream job would be managing a successful music group or actor. In her free time, she enjoys drawing, tubing on the lake and spending time with friends and family. Kacie Mann

Kacie recently graduated from Maple Grove Senior High and will be attending Winona State University in the fall, with hopes of majoring in nursing. While in high school, she was awarded the Star Student Award for employment. She has been a dedicated receptionist at Fantastic Sams for two years, so much so that they decided to sponsor her as a candidate this year. Sponsored by Fantastic Sams.

Jenni Miska

Jenni is a high school senior at Maple Grove Senior High. She participates in the Maple Grove Cheerleading Program and has an interest in graphic design and photography. She is looking forward to attending an out-of-state university in 2013. Jenni manages the Maple Grove junior varsity baseball team and enjoys baking and creating art in her free time. Lauren Patton

Lauren recently graduated from Maple Grove Senior High on the A Honor Roll and was awarded the Star Student Award for Academics. In the fall, she plans to attend the College of St. Benedict and major in nutrition and dietetics. Chelsey Radermacher

Chelsey recently graduated from Maple Grove Senior High with plans to attend North Hennepin Community College in the fall. Samantha Robinson

Samantha is a sophomore at Mankato State University, majoring in sociology. Her career goals include becoming a high school counselor to provide guidance for youth and make a difference in their lives. Danielle Rudin

Danielle recently graduated from Maple Grove Senior High with honors. She’s won several academic awards including Student of the Trimester, Student of the Year, National Merit Commended Scholar and MGSH AAA Award Representative. She plans to attend the College of St. Benedict, majoring in biology and minoring in sports medicine. Her career aspirations include opening an emergency care clinic through Doctors Without Borders. Maggie Sharp

Maggie recently graduated from Maple Grove Senior High and has been on the honor role since 2007. She was the manager of the football team in high school and enjoys reading a good book, exercising and volunteering in her spare time.
