MG Farmers Market

NOW TO OCT. 18 – The Maple Grove Farmers Market takes place every Thursday now through Oct. 18, from 3 to 7 p.m. (through September) and from 3 to 6 p.m. in October. The farmers market is at the Maple Grove Community Center, 12951 Weaver Lake Road in Maple Grove. All items locally grown and produced by the 50+ vendors – fresh produce, flowers, artisan breads, baked goods, eggs, cheese, meats, canned goods, jams, honey, syrup, sweets and more. In addition, treats such as ice cream, kettle corn, and a wide variety of baked goods are available. Looking for a little something more substantial? Ready to eat foods such as BBQ pork, hot dogs, burgers as well as wood-fired pizza are offered to make a meal. Weekly live music, free recipes and family storytime and a fun filled season of chef demos, master gardeners and frequent shopper program – something for all ages. JULY 10 – Camp Arbor will take place Tuesdays from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m. at the Shoppes at Arbor Lakes in Maple Grove. The July 10 event is a performance by the Teddy Bear Band. Movies in the Park

JULY 10 – The Osseo Movie in the Park event for Tuesday, July 10, will be "Footloose." Cartoons will be shown at 7:30 p.m. The movie will begin at 8:30 p.m. All events take place at Boerboom Veterans Memorial Park, across from City Hall, 415 Central Ave. People should bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on. In case of rain, the event will be moved to Thursday.

MG Critical Thinkers

JULY 14 – The Maple Grove Critical Thinking Discussion Group will present "Why we need to invest in early childhood education: an economist’s perspective," with Arthur Rolnick, retired Sr. VP of Research, Federal Reserve Bank and current researcher at the Humphrey Institute, U-M Saturday, July 14, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Champps Americana, 13521 80th Circle N. in Maple Grove.
