Hennepin County 4-H Celebrates 100 years

The excitement is mounting for a celebration that happens only once in a hundred years. On July 12, Hennepin County 4-H will celebrate its 100-year birthday party at the pavilion in Lone Lake Park Reserve in Minnetonka.

All current and alumni 4-H participants are invited to the open house from 4 to 8 p.m. A program at 6:30 p.m. will feature the Hennepin County 4-H Arts-In, selections of current Share-the-Fun winners, an overview history of 100 years of Hennepin 4-H, some surprise entertainment and birthday cake.

Display tables will be set up for alumni to bring old club banners, scrapbooks, photos and other memorabilia. Share 4-H history with others and it will be reviewed to be included in a book now being written on 4-H history.

The Hennepin County Youth Leadership Foundation and the Hennepin County 4-H Program are sponsoring this gala party and opportunity for attendees to visit with friends.

The Hennepin County 4-H program is administered through Hennepin County Extension and the University of Minnesota Extension. Its mission is to provide positive youth development opportunities for all youth ages six through 18.
