Delano 4th events begin Saturday
Delano’s four-day 4th of July celebration begins Saturday, June 30 and runs through Wednesday, July 4. No official Delano 4th events are scheduled for Monday, July 2.
Here is a schedule of events:
SATURDAY, JUNE 30
8 a.m. – Softball and kickball tournaments begin.
10 a.m. – American Legion baseball tournament begins.
10:30 a.m. – Registration begins at gazebo in Central Park for Kiddie Parade. Prizes for best costume.
11 a.m. – Food booths open. Social beanbag tournament begins at entertainment tent. Kiddie parade begins.
Noon – GoldStar Carnival opens. Armband special, unlimited rides with purchase of $23 armband, noon to 5 p.m.
8 p.m. to midnight – Rocket Club performs rain or shine in entertainment tent.
SUNDAY, JULY 1
8 a.m. to 10 p.m. – Softball tournaments continue at Central Park.
10 a.m. – American Legion baseball tourney continues at main field.
11 a.m. – Food booths open.
Noon – Bingo stand opens.
Noon to 6 p.m. – Chainsaw artist in the park.
Noon – GoldStar Carnival opens. Armband special, 2 to 6 p.m.
1 p.m. – Registration begins for state sanctioned Kiddie Tractor Pull (ages 11 and under) on pavement between baseball diamond and bingo stand.
1 p.m. – 4th of July memorial presentation, entertainment tent.
1:30 p.m. – Kiddie Tractor Pull.
6 p.m. – Delano Royalty coronation at Delano Middle School auditorium.
7 to 10:30 p.m. – DJ Adam Welz performs rain or shine in entertainment tent.
TUESDAY, JULY 3
4 p.m. – GoldStar Carnival opens.
5 p.m. – Food booths open.
5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. – American Legion Baseball Tournament continues at main diamond,
5 p.m. – Bingo stand opens.
5 to 10 p.m. – Softball tournaments continue.
7 p.m. to midnight – Tim Mahoney and GB Leighton perform rain or shine in entertainment tent.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 4
7:30 a.m. – Registration begins for 5K race.
8 a.m. and noon – Food booths open.
9 a.m. – All roads to parade route close.
9:30 a.m. – 5K race begins and follows parade route.
10:30 a.m. – Parade begins.
After parade – American Heritage Pipes and Drums wander the park.
Noon – GoldStar Carnival and bingo stand open.
12:30 to 10 p.m. – Softball tournaments continue.
2 to 4:30 p.m. – Wally Pikal performs in entertainment tent.
2 to 4:30 p.m. – Professional wrestling with "Buck Rock-N-Roll" Zumhofe near bingo stand.
5 p.m. – American Legion Baseball Tournament continues.
7:45 p.m. – American Legion Baseball Tournament championship game.
8 p.m. to midnight – Diamond Back performs rain or shine in entertainment tent.
8:30 p.m. – Men’s Modified Tournament championship game.
10:30 p.m. – Fireworks.
