Mastering math at DES

Delano fifth-graders brought home a third place win from the regional Math Masters competition. Math Masters is a program that challenges students to use critical thinking skills and problem solving abilities in mathematics, while recognizing academic effort and achievement.

The competition is a culmination of special preparation during which students work to improve their math skills.

With an overall placing of third our of 29 teams, some students received individual placement medals: Gretchen Wuerger and Reier Sjomeling, Fact Drill; Jessica Redinger, Nicole Pupp and Brock Wuerger, Individual Problem Solving.
