Services for Edna Augusta Liefert, 97, of Buffalo were at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Buffalo Monday July 9, 2012.
Rev. Stephen Smith conducted the service. Mrs. Karen Davis was the organist. Burial was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Tom Liefert, John Liefert, Jim Liefert, Sharon Liefert, Tim Barthel and Linda Mattson.
She was born June 18, 1915. She was the daughter of Fred Mosher and his wife Alvina nee Meyer. She became a child of God through the washing of baptism Oct. 27, 1915. She was confirmed Aug. 17, 1930, at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church. J. Weiss was the Pastor.
She was united in holy wedlock to Edward Liefert Oct. 22, 1930, at her home.
The Rev J. Weiss performed the ceremony.
The Lord blessed their union with four children, three sons and one daughter, Geroge, Arnold, Richard and Joan.
She lived on the farm all her married life. She was a homemaker the entire time and also worked for 20 years doing house cleaning. She was a faithful member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Ladies’ Aid and also taught Sunday School many years. She enjoyed her garden and cats.
She is survived by her daughter, Joan Barthel; son, George (Mabel) Liefert; son, Richard (Betty) Liefert and daughter-in-law, Lois Liefert; 17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and 35 great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Evelyn Mosher, many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Edward; son, Arnold Lieifert; grandson, Jerry Liefert; son-in-law, Rollie Barthel; brother, Fred Mosher; sister, Florence (George) Ordorff; half sisters and brothers, William and Emma Borscheid, John Borscheid, Harry and Betty Borscheid, Art and Hilda Borscheid, Matt and Dorothy Borscheid, Edward and Emma Borscheid, Alma and Everett Nelson, Anna Borscheid, Matta (Lyman) Lundquist; sister-in-law Clara (Alfred) Schubert, Frieda and Math Mais, Fred Liefert, Albert Liefert and Edna Wagener.
