DHS sophomore sharpens leadership skills

Delano High School sophomore Amanda Keranen recently attended the Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership (HOBY) seminar, which was be held at Bethel University in St. Paul.

HOBY was founded in 1958 with the mission to inspire and develop youth globally for a life of leadership, service and innovation. Recipients receive unique leadership training and participate in motivational exercises.

Keranen was chosen due to her proven leadership skills, enthusiasm, desire to participate and work ethic. She was recommended by a HOBY representative as well as DHS staff.

Over 4,000 volunteers plan and execute the HOBY programs each year at local and national levels. Throughout the US, over 375,000 HOBY alums are leaders in their schools and communities, making a difference for others through service.
