CCP to present ‘Pinocchio’ this summer

Cross Community Players is presenting "My Son Pinocchio" at Maple Grove Senior High School, 9800 Fernbrook Lane in Maple Grove, July 20 through July 29.

Join the Blue Fairy, Stromboli and a lively cast of characters as Geppetto journeys beyond the Toy Shop to discover what makes the "perfect child." This family-friendly musical will excite the audience with its mix of heartwarming fairytale and adventure. The audience members will follow Pinocchio as he journeys from an awkward wooden puppet to a real, live boy and will be charmed by Geppetto’s transformation from demanding creator to a real, live father.

Performances run July 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28, at 7:30 p.m. and at 2 p.m. on July 22 and 29. There will be an AD interpreted performance July 26, at 7:30 p.m. An ASL interpreted performance will be July 27 at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets cost $10 for general admission and children 2 and under are free. People can reserve tickets ahead of time to get the best seats. Costs for reserve tickets are $16 for adults, $14 for seniors age 62 and up and $10 for students and children.

This year CCP is hosting a coloring contest for kids 12 and under. Go to the website, print off the picture of Pinocchio and color away. Bring the picture to any performance to be displayed. Winners will be announced during the performance.
