Vinland to break ground for expansion

Vinland National Center, of Independence as announced that financing for its building expansion project has been finalized and construction will begin immediately. Groundbreaking is set for Wednesday, June 27.

Vinland is located just west of Loretto on the north side of Lake Independence.

"We have been working very hard for the last few years to make this expansion a reality, and I am very excited to begin construction," said Mary Roehl, Vinland’s executive director. "The building expansion will provide us with the much needed space to continue expanding our programming, which is in high demand."

The building expansion will add 20 chemical health beds to Vinland’s existing 41-bed residential facility. Vinland also will add a new kitchen and dining facility, an expanded therapeutic exercise facility, a new commons area, and additional meeting space. The expansion will increase Vinland’s existing main campus square footage by 50 percent.
