Maple Grove’s Ordner 3rd in state high jump

Maple Grove junior Madison Ordner took home the third-place medal at the state track and field meet Friday, June 8 at Hamline University.

Ordner earned the high finish with a school-record jump of 5 feet 5 inches. Tatyana Pahibin of Minneapolis Southwest won first place by clearing 5 feet 6 inches.

Ordner earned state qualification by finishing second at the Section 5 meet, where she recorded a jump of 5 feet 2 inches.

The Maple Grove 4×100 relay team of junior Marissa Lister, ninth-graders Rachel Salem and Zenitka Lee and junior Haley Nelson also competed at state. The foursome ran in 10th place with a time of 50.69 on Friday’s prelims and did not qualify for the championship heat Saturday. The Crimson qualified for state by taking second at the Section 5 meet with a time of 50.10.
