The Education Foundation is constantly funding educational resources for students in the Rockford School District. One of their gifts to Rockford Middle School-Center for Environmental Studies was a donation of 16 handheld GPS units.
These GPS units have been used in a variety of classrooms, including social studies, math, and STEM Literacy, for many different activities.
Students have used the GPS units to find slope, measure the local watershed, and find caches around the school property. Students in all middle school grade levels have enjoyed using the GPS units as a way to make learning exciting.
