(May 22) The Royals shot 304 to win their final Mississippi 8 meet of the 2012 season played at Riverwood National Golf Course.
Team scores were: Rogers 304, STMA 318, Cambridge-Isanti 322, Buffalo 333, Monticello 342, Becker 355 and Big Lake 364.
Rogers was led by a 1-over-par 73 from senior Jordan Rykal, the meet medalist; a 3-over-par 75 from senior Zach Hnath (fourth); a 77 from junior Morgan Rask (fifth); a 79 from junior Kyle Korva; an 83 from sophomore Dylan Kline; and an 87 from senior Andy Suedbeck.
"Jordan stepped up to win it today in some more tough and windy conditions," said Rogers coach Dan Bursheim. "He drove the green on the 350-yard, par-4 17th to eagle the hole and secure the win.
"Zach showed his athleticism in tying for second.
"Kyle was impressive all year in going from a sophomore not playing in a single meet to getting all-conference this year.
"Morgan will be the top-returning underclassman after Corey [Muenzhuber] and Jordan graduate.
"Dylan did a nice job in his last-minute replacement of Corey, who sat out after straining his back while stretching before the meet."
With the victory, Rogers finished first in the final conference standings by a wide margin in front of Cambridge-Isanti, Buffalo, STMA, Becker, Monticello and academic champions Big Lake.
Five Royals made the all-conference in Hnath (76.67 scoring average), Korva (76.83), Muenzhuber (70.5), Rask (74.33) and Rykal (73.17).
