Osseo Postal carrier retires after 39 years

Burton Pansch is retiring from the United States Postal Service after 39 and a half years. He is officially retiring Friday, June 1.

He began his postal career Feb. 3, 1973, as a letter carrier in Austin, Texas. In June 1977, he transferred to Osseo and has been there ever since.

He had a walking route for three years. He then worked a swing (five different routes for six years. But for the last 25 years, Pansch has worked on the route C-12.

"It was wonderful to serve all the people on my route, having the same route for over 25 years," he said. "I surely will miss everyone."
