On Monday, May 28 at 9:34 a.m., the National Weather Service in Chanhassen issued a flood warning for the Crow River at Rockford beginning Tuesday a.m., May 29, and until further notice.
At 8:30 a.m. on May 28, minor flooding was forecast at 9.3 feet. Flood stage is predicted at some points in the city at 10 feet. At this time, predictions by the service put high water at 11 feet by Thursday, May 31, in the evening. This would result in some minor flooding in low-lying areas and, possibly, roadways along the river. This forecast is based on recent heavy rains, with additional, lighter rainfall being projected.
